This week, the music scene in Denver is mourning the loss of another beloved musician. Danny Pappas, the frontman of My Own Iris — a band that he originally formed five years ago as Resonance — and a very well regarded member of the scene, passed away earlier this week.
As the sad news of his passing spread through the scene, there was a tremendous outpouring of love and condolences from those who knew Pappas, and everybody expressed similar sentiments with regard to his kindness, thoughtfulness, and just how significantly he impacted the lives of everyone around him.
Friends, family members and fellow musicians in the scene are convening this weekend to celebrate the life of Pappas on Sunday, October 9, at Herman's Hideaway at a special tribute show featuring Scarlet Canary, Pride In Pieces, Lost Point, Vermillion Road and Beyond Influence. The all-ages show starts at 6 p.m. and there is a $5 suggested donation. A service to remember Pappas is also planned for Monday, October 10, at Ellis Family Services at 13436 W. Arbor Place in Littleton.
