In case you missed it, Allegaeon posted its new video yesterday on YouTube.

A performance clip, the video was shot this past winter at Denver's Black Sky Brewery (which just celebrated its third anniversary) and features the Fort Collins-based metal act playing in front of a roomful of wildly enthusiastic fans (when it comes to metal, is there any other kind?). The track, "All Hail Science," is slated to appear on Proponent for Sentience, which is due to be released in the next few weeks.

The album is a follow-up to Elements of the Infinite, the outfit's last release in 2014, and it's the first with frontman Riley McShane (Son of Aurelius, Inanimate Existence, Continuum), who replaced Ezra Haynes, the band's previous vocalist at the end of last year.

From the sounds of "All Hail Science" and "Gray Matter Mechanics - Appasionata Ex Machinea," another track the outfit has shared from the new album, Proponent for Sentience is a pretty heady record.

With this record we’re bringing ideas to the table that corroborate the fact that at this juncture, robotics as a field is moving forward at an alarming rate. This story is dotted with examples of real-life scientific advancements, and it is also perforated with details of humanity’s flaws. Overall, the record tells a story that is still a bit too far fetched to be based in reality, but isn’t too far beyond the scope of imagination to see occurring within the not-so-distant future.
